Its a Monday a la Mode!! This week I’m in FULL fall mode and I started the week reaaall rough- I’m talking strep throat. Yeah, last week I went hard all around.. working hard and playing hard. Sometimes I think I’m invincible.. and slack on the self-care a bit (i.e. Not sleeping enough and saying yes to too much, can you blame me?? I’m in the city that never sleeps.. HA)
But seriously, recovering quick & having to you take that keep you from burning out is soo essential & there’s nothing that makes me more antsy than being forced to be in bed🙈 But when it happens I make myself sleep all day, bring my stack of books to my bedside, & my oil diffuser! (I diffuse frankincense & Frankincense + First Aid from Living Libations).
RECOVERY MUST HAVES!
+Frankincense! (I use Living Libations, not sponsored, I just know how hard it is to find good essential oils!) I add it to my diffuser and also it’s amazing for fighting colds & supporting the immune system! It’s also antimicrobial & a natural astringent.. Love!
+Chaga: Seriously.. soo good for the immune system. I add it to almond milk with ice, Maca, and some chocolate Sun Warrior protein powder & shake!! I have a full post but it’s an amazing recovery drink. If you want a nighttime drink, Four Sigmatic has an amazing Reishi Hot Chocolate that you can throw into some almond milk, yummmm
+Sleep Mask: getting deep sleep is like gold for your body (helps with literally everything!) So sleep as much as you can when your sick. A sleep mask is so helpful when your trying to recover & snooze all day! Seriously.. a game changer.
+ Water: Ok, ok, water is wayyy boring. Spice it up & add some health benefits! I love adding mint leaves, lemon, apple cider vinegar, aloe juice, magnesium, turmeric, etc. I’ll throw in a few of these depending on what I’m in the mood for, but having water with extra health benefits is just SO efficient. Love.
+Books & Podcasts: fight that sick day boredom & bounce back smarter & soooo motivated.
+ Bath Time: My “sick baths” are nooo joke. I have an entire post on my love of baths It’s a major detox & burns a shit ton of calories… helloo?! I mean you can’t workout when your sick.. so it’s fab. Hot water is amazing to “sweat out” the toxins, and I add Epsom salts to further detox (magnesium is insane for inflammation, flushing out toxins & digestion) , I also add my essential oils, too!
