SHOW SOME LOVE: Meditation

img_0718HI HI, hey there, hope you all are having an amazing day! I actually just got done meditating & it’s something that I have prioritized in my daily life (just 10 minutes!) that makes me so much more clear, focused, and productive! I know you must hear about all the benefits of meditation lately, but here me out, every morning you wake up & do your morning routine, answer emails, check items off your to-do list, etc., but if you don’t reflect on what you want to accomplish & if you aren’t clear and focused on your goals, are you actually moving towards them on a daily basis? Living in NYC, I’m blogging and modeling, and it’s so easy to just be busy. Meditation gives me time to truly feel gratitude, envision what I want, and just listen and be still. All that & millions of more benefits and studies are coming out, so YES, SIGN ME UP!

Creating a routine- this is essential if you want this to become a habit. I personally enjoy meditating first thing in the morning. I wake up and I use my five minute journal, then I head to the bathroom, have a glass of water and go back to my room. I sit cross legged on my bed (sometimes I use a pillow too) and just breathe. Guided meditations are amazing, especially for beginners.



TIP 1: Do little things to get you in the state of mind, maybe it’s lighting a candle, diffusing some oils, or stretching before! I’ve been obsessed with laying on my acupuncture mat (more info here) about 10 minutes before my sleep meditation.

TIP 2: choose different “themes” throughout the week. Maybe certain days are your days to focus on gratitude meditations, other days are for just focusing on your breath, etc. You can even put it in your planner! For some reason, this makes me look forward to my little 10 minutes and switches it up.

TIP 3: Start small and work your way up. The goal in the beginning is to make it a habit, not to be meditating for super long periods of time! Consistency is key, and constantly chipping a way everyday and working on your meditation practice is going to make you feel the best.
